Pakistan Visa Information
Pakistan visa applications are tricky. Here, we’ve got the information that you need to get through the process. Don’t worry, this visa advice isn’t just applicable to UK citizens; it’s relevant to US, Canadian, Australian, EU and New Zealand nationals too.
How to get a Pakistan visa
UK, US, Canadian, Australian and many EU citizens are not eligible for a Pakistan visa on arrival. However, if you are from one of these countries you can still apply for a standard E-Visa.
Pakistan E-Visa Applications
To apply for an e-visa, you will need to complete the application before you leave for Pakistan. To do so, you must fill out your visa application form through the official e-visa website.
In most cases, you won’t need a formal letter of invitation from a Pakistan tour company; a hotel booking should suffice. You need to leave at least 5-10 days for your application to process. Once its been approved, you should be granted the right to stay within the country for 30 days.
Pakistan Visa on-arrival
New Zealand, German and nationals of 48 other countries can receive a Pakistan visa on-arrival in the country. This gives you permission to stay in the country for up to 30 days.
Unlike an e-visa, those applying for a Pakisan visa on-arrival are more likely to be asked for a letter of invitation.
Can I get a visa at the airport?
If you complete your Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) beforehand, you will be able to receive your Pakistan visa at Islamabad and several other airports.
Which countries can visit Pakistan visa-free?
The following nationalities can visit Pakistan without a Visa: Iceland (90 days), Maldives (90 days), Nepal (30 days), Samoa (30 days), Tonga (unlimited) and Trinidad & Tobago (unlimited)
